$180/person for 2 hours. Rides around the lodge. Depart at 9:30am, noon, and 2:30pm. 3-5 mile rides. Only available for Spear-O-Wigwam guests.

Know before you go!

  1. Wear appropriate shoes, tennis shoes are ok, but boots are recommended.
  2. Horses aren’t machines. We care deeply about our herd, which means if they are sore or hurt, we may not be able to take certain rides. 
  3. We have a 250lb weight limit for the protection of our animals. 
  4. Our age restriction is 12+. 
  5. Mountain weather is unpredictable, bring a rain jacket and warm clothes. 
  6. Do I have to be a guest at Spear-O-Wigwam to ride? Nope! We encourage locals and those passing through to book rides. However, the two hour ride is not available for none guests.
  7. It is a 1-hour drive up a steeper gravel mountain road from Sheridan. To be on time, plan accordingly. Spearowigwam.com/directions *We are not on a paved road

RESERVATIONS

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance in order to be confirmed. Drop-in rides may be available at Spear-O-Wigwam but not guaranteed.  If you do not book a horse ride with your cabin, guests of Spear-O-Wigwam may not be guaranteed a ride.  

Refunds

*Deposits for rides cancelled more than 2 days before a ride will be refunded. 
*Cancellations within 2 days of a confirmed ride will be refunded half the 50% deposit amount.
*No Shows will not be refunded the 50% deposit

Which Ride do I choose?

For the absolute best experience you’ll never forget, we recommend the all-day. We are a 90 minute trail ride to the Cloud Peak Wilderness, meaning if you truly want to immerse yourself in the most beautiful part of the Bighorns, an all-day ride is the way to go. 

Two hour rides are great, but you don’t get very far from the lodge, you also need to be staying at Spear-O-Wigwam. Half-day rides are beautiful as well, but it’s just a sneak peak of what an All-day can be. 

Better yet, spend a few days with our wranglers in one of the truly remote places in the world.

UNGUIDED

Horseback is a great way to travel in the Bighorn National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness. It can be rough country, so preparation is a must.

Spear-O-Wigwam does not board or feed horses other than the resident herd.
